got new thermostat from yourselves, metal cable is to long can it b cut if not its no good because it only goes so far

You cannot cut the capillary pipe on a thermostat. If it is only a couple of inches long coil the excess like a spring next to the thermostat to enable it to fit in the thermostat housing.
