why does my Bosch SGS5022 stop mid-cycle?
Hi, when i turn my dishwasher on it starts normally - ie it pumps out any remaining water. The timer then clicks on, and would normally begin the first rinse cycle. Now however it justs stops at that point and sits there. After about an hour it starts up again and completes the cycle! If i try to move the timer on manually to complete the cycle it sounds as though it is trying to rinse, but there is no water feed. Any ideas? Thermostat failed? Thanks, Huw.

Hi Huw, I'm guessing there's either a blockage somewhere in the drain system, or failing that, the anti-flood device has become damaged. I'm guessing though, that because the dishwasher starts going after an hour or so, that there's a blockage in the drain system. Basically, the anti-flood device is a float switch, which switches on when the base of the dishwasher is filled with water. It sends a message to the PCB telling it to not let any more water in to the dishwasher. It turns off again once the water level has dropped - which sounds as if is an hour later inside your dishwasher. What I'd advise you to do is remove the lower tray and then the mesh filter guard and filter, clean the filter, and remove any and all blockages. Do the same for the drain hose. Do make sure you unplug the dishwasher first, as well as cutting off the water supply to it. Best of luck!
