brandt cfa3111wu interior light works but fridge or freezer does not, had an engineer look at it says its a circuit board are these easy to fit as he wanted an astronomical amount more than what the fridge is worth or could it be something else, he didn't

Hi lumpy, PCBs are tricky to replace I'm afraid. It will involve removing the 'control panel' - this is the part with all the temperature control buttons and knobs on it. Once you've removed it, you must remove the old PCB and then fit the new one, making sure to wire it exactly as the old one was wired, and making sure that the wires are really secure, not loose at all. You then put the appliance back together again. I wouldn't recommend trying this fix-it yourself unless your confident you'll get it right.
