How does one disassemble the dyson to get to the stage where we can refit this part?

To replace this part use a small screwdriver to remove the cap from the centre of the old ball and then remove the fixing screw in the middle. Then use a large flat blade to turn the black centre and undo the mounting bolt. Transfer the bolt to the new ball and refit in the reverse order.
