We only need the cap as the washer is leaking from the filter hole but don't know how to separate the cap from the strainer. Can you advise? A picture of the inside of the cap may help....

Click on the image to see another view. The parts simply push and 'click' together. Try warming in hot water then using a flat bladed screwdriver to carefully prise apart.
