This knob is the right one for my oven, but the spindle has dropped down behind the fascia. Is it possible to remove the fascia or can I buy a replacement spindle?

The spindle is usually part of the switch that fits into the control knob, the fascia panel can be removed but check the switch.
The knob gets hot while oven is working and gets brittle when cold. The sleeve that slips onto the pin cracks. I have just put on a new knob about 2 weeks ago, it is already cracked and will not change the oven settings. I purchased the exact knob. Please advise what can be done to rectify this problem.

Can you please check the door to ensure it is sealing correctly as if the door seal has gone there will be heat escaping that will impact on the knobs and cause the damage. If the seal is required there is a video on replacing
