I am not good at fixing things but don't want to spend £40 on this quite old vacuum cleaner. If it's a simple job with clear instructions I will have a go myself...otherwise I will dump the vacuum!

Unfortunately this part is not supplied with fitting instructions, as we have not been advised of this by the manufacturer.

Answer this question

Hi - before I purchase this item can you confirm my diagnosis please? The machine will not switch off unless you remove it from the mains. The switch has a healthy click when operated outside of the machine and my, albeit primitive, circuit tester produces a different reading when the switch is operated (it reads "1" in one position and "0" in another) but I have no idea what this means. Is there any other part which would cause this failure? Thanks for any help/advice you can offer. - Bob

Hi Leofrog8 Without actually seeing your vacuum cleaner, it is impossible to tell what is causing this problem. What I would advise is talking to your local vacuum cleaner specialist and they should be able to diagnose the problem for you. And that's where we come in! With thousands of vacuum spares, we're bound to have the part for you.

Answer this question

I have removed two screws near the handle and also the one that holds the cable peg but I can't see how to separate the plastic parts to get at the switch assembly in the handle.
