How to replace the door seal on a Miele tumble dryer

If your tumble dryer isn't drying correctly or you are experiencing mould around the door, it could simply be down to a damaged door seal. If the door seal is split or has become worn, air will escape through the door and affect the performance of your tumble dryer or can cause condensation to leak out. In this article, we will show you how to remove the door seal and replace it with a new one.

How do I know if my door seal is faulty?

There are a few tumble dryer issues that are caused by a faulty door seal. Door seals help contain heat so if your dryer isn't heating up or drying clothes correctly, this could mean heat is escaping due to your damaged door seal. Moist air can also exit the machine due to this and cause mould to form around your tumble dryer. Another sign is that lint and fluff are becoming stuck between the door and the glass. If you are experiencing any of these issues and you suspect your door seal could be causing the problem, you will need to replace it.
