The indicator markings on most cooker control panels are usually painted onto the surface. Cleaning fluids can cause these to be damaged and accidentally wiped off.
In this video, Mat shows you how easy it is to replace the control panel to help make the cooker look like new again - and leave you with a control panel where you can actually read and identify the markings on it!
This video shows an example on how to remove or replace the part on a typical machine, some models may be different but the procedure should be similar.
What You Will Need:
Step 1 - Safety Advice
Safety First! Please make sure that you have disconnected the appliance from the mains before beginning any repair and wear safety gloves to protect from sharp edges.
Step 2 - Starting The Repair
Move the oven to allow easy access and remove the control knobs.
eSpares Top Tip: Line up the knobs in the order that they are fitted, this will help you to ensure they are fitted back on to the correct controls.
Step 3 - Removing The Control Panel
Being careful of the sharp edges on the panel, remove any fixing screws to release the fascia and you will then be able to carefully lift it away. You can now disconnect any indicators that are fitted.
Step 4 - Changing The Fascia
Transfer any indicators over to the new panel, before fitting to the cooker and connect as required.
Step 5 - Finishing The Job
Refit the control knobs in the correct order and slide the cooker back into position, turn the power back on and reset any clock if required.
