Here, we're going to guide you through how to replace dishwasher spray arms on a Hotpoint dishwasher so you can get your appliance working properly again. How to replace dishwasher spray arms

Step 1: Remove the lower spray arm

To begin, slide out the lower basket and remove it from the dishwasher. Then hold the spray arm still with one hand, using the other to unscrew the lower fixing kit. Once unscrewed, remove the lower spray arm from the dishwasher.

Step 2: Remove the lower spray fixing kit

If the lower spray fixing kit is damaged instead of or as well as the lower spray arm, you will need to replace this too. Unscrew the lower spray fixing kit with your hands and remove it from the dishwasher. You may need a wrench to help you if the fixing kit is tightly fitted.

Step 3: Fit the new lower arm fixing kit

To fit the replacement lower arm fixing kit, simply screw it back into place tightly using your hands.

Step 4: Fit the new lower spray arm

To finish, fit your new lower spray arm by screwing it into place with your hands, holding the fixing kit beneath as you secure them tightly together.

Step 5: Removing the upper basket

Now let's take a look at the upper spray arm. This spray arm is connected to the bottom of the upper basket, so you will need to open the runner ends that keep the upper basket in place and slide it out. Then turn the basket upside down to access the spray arm.

Step 6: Removing the upper spray arm

To remove the upper spray arm, simply twist the arm free and it will come straight off the basket.

Step 7: Fit the new upper spray arm

Then, to fit a replacement spray arm, simply twist it back into place on the bottom of the upper basket.

Step 8: Replacing the upper fixing nut and seal

Finally, you can also replace the upper fixing nut and seal at the back of the appliance if the nut is damaged. To replace this part, simply unscrew it from the back wall inside the dishwasher and screw the replacement into place with your hands.
