Safety first

Remember, you should always switch off your appliance and unplug it from the wall before carrying out any work, repairs or faulty part replacements.

Error codes E1 and 4E

The Samsung washing machine error codes E1 and 4E indicate an input error on the washing machine. This means the machine is having trouble filling with water. In this case, the first thing to check is that the rear hoses are not blocked, trapped or kinked. If you find that your hose is damaged, it will need to be replaced, and any blockages you find will need to be removed.

If the problem doesn't lie with the hoses, the next thing to check will be the inlet valves. These can be found at the top of the machine in the back corner when you remove the top panel.

Error codes E2 and 5E

The error codes E2 and 5E on a Samsung washing machine indicate an output error, meaning the machine cannot empty properly. When this happens, the first thing you should check is the filter at the bottom corner of the front of the machine. This will be guarded by a small panel that you can remove by hand.
