Bosch Washing Machine Error Code F01 or F17
Our home appliances make our everyday life easier, but on occasion, faults can develop causing all sorts of havoc in the house. Washing clothes without a washing machine can be difficult and time-consuming, hence the reason why we depend on it so much.
If your washing machine is displaying either an F01 or F17 error code on the digital display panel, the most likely cause for this would be due to a faulty inlet valve. Fear not, with our knowledge and your DIY skills you may be able to fix your washer yourself saving you the expensive engineer call out.
Inlet Valve
The washing machine inlet valve is the electrical solenoid valve - and this opens when current is applied to allow the washer to fill up with water from the household water supply.
Now if the valves have either blocked or not been activated, your washer will not fill up with water. With our help, you can prevent your washer from running dry again.
Safety First! Please make sure that you have disconnected the appliance from the mains before beginning any repair.
- If the water supply is turned on and the hose pipe is not kinked the problem may be due to a faulty inlet valve.
- Check the inlet valve with a multimeter to confirm continuity - typically 2000 to 4000 Ohms. (See here for instruction on how to use a multimeter)
If there is no resistance reading or when the machine starts there is a slight hum from the valve, but no water enters the machine, it is likely to be faulty - and will require a replacement valve.
