Filter
The filter is a key component in ensuring that your dishwasher can continue to run and wash your plates effectively, as it prevents large food particles from getting to the wash pump - which could lead to motor failure.
Safety First! Please make sure that you've switched off your appliance and disconnected it from the mains before beginning any repair.
To help identify a faulty dishwasher filter, you can follow these simple steps to diagnose your filter problem - and you can hopefully get it repaired without having to call out a costly repairman (or in other instances, helping to avoid buying a new dishwasher).
- Locate the filter, usually located on the floor of the dishwasher.
- See your user manual on how to safely remove the filter.
- Check to see if the filter has any damage - such as holes.
- While the filter is removed also check to see if any food has become trapped, and clean if required.
To help prevent the filter from becoming damaged, or generally having a far shorter life expectancy, it is recommended to perform regular maintenance by simply removing the filter and giving it a rinse.
