When I remove the two screws holding the door on, will the nuts fall or are they captive?

It is not clear from the information available but we think that the screws should remove without a problem. We suggest carefully loosen both screws and check if movement of one screw causes the other to also move to identify if there is a plate connecting them behind the front panel. You can also remove the top and check whilst removing and catch or hold any loose nuts or plates if required.
