dish washer slowly fills with water when not being used could it be i need to change this or could it be something else
so over a few days of not being used the dish washer fills with water causing flooding not sure if it the solenoid valve or something else

Check the water pressure as it may be pushing the valve open when off, check if its dirty water that may be coming from the drain before suspecting the valve.
