Looking to service my 4yr Samsung WF8704RSW washing machine
What items would you suggest I replace for preventative measures? I guess a machine oil seal bearing is first on the list, what about the shock absorber? Does the machine only have one? The machine runs fine (that's cursed it) but the drum does move quite excessively and frequently you can hear a rubber component squeal as it's connecting with something. Sensible advice appreciated. Thanks

Replacing this seal is like replacing the crankshaft seal on a car, a major job that would not normally be undertaken without a significant reason to do so (see our bearing change video for information on carrying out this repair). Excessive vibration is nearly always due to a unbalanced wash load where a heavy item such as a towel or jeans is in a light load of pants or shirts. Check for this next time you have a noisy spin as the 'evidence' will be in the wash load. To reduce this always wash enough 'heavy items' to allow the machine to spread them evenly around the drum.
