think it is the motor but could it be anything else?
Today I was vacuuming and my DC33 (uk model) stopped working, motor wound down and then there was a slight burning smell, left it to cool cleaned everything out and still will not work. Do you think it is the motor ? many thanks

Usually the motor when it starts to fail will splutter for a period before stopping but sometimes an internal fuse may blow. To identify the cause you will need to measure the resistance across the motor with a meter. This should typically be less than 100 ohms or the motor has failed.
