One of my gas rings lights when I turn the knob but goes off when I release the knob.

It has been deteriorating for some weeks. Sometimes it will stay alight after several attempts. I have been told that it might be the thermocouple. All other rings are acting normally. Will a thermocouple sort it and is it easy to fix?

The problem is likely to be related to the thermocouple. confirm the tip has as much flame as other burners heating it as it may be reduced due to spillage. if the flame is ok replace the thermocouple.
