I replaced this bearing in Nov 2009 and it seems to have gone again after only 15 months. That is a lot shorter life than the previous one.
I did not lubricate it since it seems to be graphite and should not need it. Could it have been installed incorrectly? The earth strap has now worn away and needs replacing too although I was surprised at the £7 price tag.

- perhaps the surface of the shaft was damaged which caused premature wear
