ok,but on the HPE236 there are no retaining screws and no obvious method of removal of the door interlock

Remove the door seal from the front and press the 'pips' that push through the front panel either side of he lock hole and slide the lock hole frame away from the door. It should then hinge/lift away. To fit the new lock hook the hole frame into the front panel and hinge/slide it into position until the 'pips' lock it in place.
