My motor is overheating and cutting out. Dust seems to be getting past the pre motor filter.
I have cleaned the filter every couple of weeks. I cannot see where the dust is getting past the filter but at the post filter stage it has a lot of fine dust attached to the body of the motor under the post motor filter. The post motor filter is very dirty also. What can I check and which parts do I need. I think I could do with some new filters and housing?
Answer this Question (1 Answer)
- One thing to check is that your pre-motor filter is securely fastened in. Check that the securing clip hasn't broken or on the verge of breaking. We've had 2 of these clips go ourselves and it seems to be a weak spot on the vacuum. If there is any slight "mis-fit" of the pre-motor filter then dust particles will get sucked in around that area, leading to a clogged and dirty post filter. hope this helps
