Is it possible to use a 16"bar to replace a 18" bar?

The model is a Mculloch 540e with the chain adjustment on the bar, now no longer available. The bar is broken so I need a alternative fitting. Any suggestions.

We do not have any information on this but if you can fit it securely onto the motor assembly, then it should be suitable but do not use unless fitted exactly like the original as chainsaws are very dangerous tools. If unsuitable you can return subject to our policy listed at: http://www.espares.co.uk/returns
