To stretch the spring Stock Number: ES1597043 onto the hinge you can fit it to one end and loop string or wire through the hook at the other end and pull the loop to stretch and fit onto the hinge.
- I have just changed the RH door hinge on a Smeg DWI 67.1 and it was a pain as you really need some sort of spring expander as the door return spring is so strong. Is there a special tool for this job? I used a pair of long G clamps to stretch the spring in the end.
