How do I change the adaptor fitting on this strimmer head?

I need to change the threading on the top of the strimmer head to accept a left hand thread bolt on my strimmer. One of the adaptors (the black one) is a left hander and the correct diameter, but I can't work out how to switch adaptors. Thanks

  • Hello Nigelew, I hope by now you have resolved your problem. I'm sorry I didn't get to you sooner. To replace the threading is very straight forward; first open the head as if to replace the cord. 2. Then remove the cord holder by pulling straight out. 3. This will reveal a black plastic cog wheel which is spring loaded. 4. Press down this cog wheel and move from side to side, this will loosen it up a bit and it should pull straight off revealing a spring on which the adapter is attached. 5. The adapter will pull off the spring fairly easily. 6. Replace with the correct adapter and replace black cog wheel ensuring it is lined up to the slots on the yellow base. 7. Replace cord holder. Job done. I hope this is of use to you. By haroldreeves - Wexford, Ireland - 12 October 2013
