my switch assembly has started working in reverse, ie when the lid is closed the motor doesn't work, when the lid is lifted it works fine, can you please suggest a remedy

  • This appears to be a common problem with this model, having read this question I tried my (broken) mower with the grass lid open and it ran perfectly. I then told a friend whose mower wasn't working and she tried with the lid up and it worked perfectly. I would expect a company with a good reputation as Flymo to have investigated and advised/warned users of these dangerous occurrence, after all it is a safety mechanism. Perhapse after someone gets seriously injured they will investigate. By phil m - Stoke on trent - 18 June 2014

You will need technical advice. We suggest you either contact an engineer or Flymo. Unfortunately we cannot give out technical help.

I have a Roller Compact 340 and recently replaced the motor that only has 2 connector terminals for the blue and brown lead wires. Can anyone tell me where the second brown wire from the cut out switch housed in the lawnmower switch bracket assembly connects to?

The brown wire from the control switch should usually go through the safety switch before going to the motor.
