    Check for a blockage as that will stop the airflow and may cause a burning smell before suspecting the motor.

    The likely cause of the problem is the bearings on the brush roller jammed with hair or string. Remove the roller and check it spins freely before retrying.

my, brush doesnt work however the vacum works ive looked at the belt thats ok also the brush is clean, and power is going to the motor but it doesnt turn

The brushes on my DC24 will not turn and it does not pick up,the hose part works fine,which part needs replacing?

    Hi V12riot, it could be a number of things causing this problem. See our advice centre article here: http://www.espares.co.uk/advice/vacuum-cleaners/a/4/298/common-carpet-washer-faults.html?k=#notturning. I wouldn't say it's the motor assembly, as this part powers the whole machine so if it was broken the vacuum wouldn't even turn on. Hope this helps!
