1 Question and 1 Answer

Put too much weight on the door - too many cast iron pans - and it's gone down too far. It now won't go up enough to latch: could hold it in position but it springs out again. Over-stretched spring? Not the single arm hinge with a fixed point of rotation as in Matt's excellent video - it's this two arm hinge designed to drop as it rotates. Is it likely to be just a hinge problem or has something else inside got bent? (This model seems to have lots of clever electronics but flimsy metal!) We paid a local but well-recommended repair guy to come and look at it: that's all he did! No, he opened and closed the door once and announced it couldn't be repaired without explaining why not. Can you shed any light on the problem? Also wondering how the hinge attaches to the door as it also supports it - do we need to take door panels off? And whether the hinges you supply, apparently including spring, also include any necessary fixings such as lock washers, etc? (And why are the left-hand and right-hand different prices?)

The problem is likely just to be the hinges and the fixings should be reused from the old hinges.
