I have a SMS53L02GB/02 dishwasher. The top drawer will not slide fully in. This because the white plastic piece between the upper spray arm and the water inlet at the back appears to slip down and stop engagement. Will purchasing a new arm solve this problem?

Re PBS's comments: Without the top basket in place the water will not be delivered at the correct pressure to the lower spray arms. Replacing this part should resolve the problem if the basket sets to the correct height.
- I have exactly the same problem The top tray won't seem to push in all the way and the dishwasher won't start If I take the top tray out, the dishwasher goes through the cycle but, sadly, the dishes remain dirty!

This part should allow the water supply to connect to the spray arms with the top basket at any of the correct heights that is is set to.
