Is this the small alloy pulley directly attached to the motor shaft which I don't need, or is it the large black plastic pulley attached to the flexible drive which I do require & if not can you give me the appropriate part number for the large pulley.

  • I've just taken my GL720 apart and can confirm this is the top drive pulley attached to the motor and not the large black plastic one at the top of the shaft that travels down the barrel. By mcfod - - 08 July 2012

Hi there guys. To see whether the large plastic pulley is available for your trimmers, enter your trimmer's model number in the bar at the top of the page to list all parts available for it.

Answer this question

My pulley looks ok but is loose on the shaft ,so is it just a question they are a tight fit onto the shaft and mine has worn loose overtime. The model number is a CF10 command feed strimmer Thanks garry

If there is no screw thread on the end of the motor shaft and no 'grub screw' or locating hole for a spring dowel then it is likely the gear is fixed just by being a tight fit on the motor shaft. The new gear would either be fitted to the shaft using a press. Or alternatively if heated enough may thermally expand and shrink on to the motor shaft.
