Washing Machine Door Interlock

If you are unable to close your door for your machine do not worry, here at eSpares we could have what you are looking for!

Door locks need to be checked on a regular basis to ensure they work correctly. If the door is not locked correctly during the wash cycle, it could lead to water leaks from the machine. The door interlock is an electronic device that provides a time delay of approximately 2 minutes, once the wash/dry cycle has been completed, before the washing machine door can be opened.

If your washing machine will not start, yet the relevant lights appear to be lit on the facia panel, it could be because the door interlock has failed. If the door closes, and the wash/dry cycle is selected but still no joy - it may well be time for a new interlock.

With help from eSpares, you can soon be back to a safe and fully working washing machine again, so the pile of laundry does not start to stack up for you!

1 Question and 1 Answer

on the video you show unscrewing holding screws - on the washer model I have there are no screws holding this in place - only lugs. Do I need a special tool?

Carefully press the two plastic 'pips' to allow them to slide under the front panel and allow the lock surround to disengage from the panel.
