  • you just need a circut tester to check the motor,put the contacts on either side of brush housings if you get a reading then the motor is ok,if no reading then it could be brushes but it is more likely burnt out windings!,(new motor)ok,a.t.b. prezzer By prezzer - scarborough - 23 October 2012

    It is easier to test and identify a fault with the motor than a fault with the board. check for continuity across the motor.

  • If you test the motor and that is working fine then its 99% that its the board and most people would not bother to try an repair it as it could be any number of things. If the cleaner is less that 5 years old they will replace the parts free. By Anonymous - West midlands - 20 August 2013

    Hi TJ, the brushbar motor does not have a reset on it itself; the reset switch is located on the cleaner head, and a wire runs to the motor housing.
