Answer this question

I have a FDPF481P diswasher and the door mechanism isn't working when the machine is fully assembled; however, when I took the locking assembly out of the machine it connected to the other part, albeit with some force. Is it possible that the spring has gone within the locking assembly? I don't want to buy the part if I don't have to.

It is not uncommon for these locks to fail and if the door closes easily without the lock and the catch on the cabinet is not damaged then it is reasonable to assume the lock is faulty.

It is likely to be this part that is faulty, See the video attached for fitting information and be careful with sharp edges on the door.
