The counterweight is simply a block of concrete; this is there to balance the heavy motor that drives the gearbox which spins the tub. If the counterweight has cracked it’ll no longer be useful and using your washer without a counterweight could lead to damage to the washing machine.

We have this replacement weight which can be fitted to the bottom of your washing machine in place of the existing weight and help restore the stability of your washing machine during the spin cycles.
