Floor Polisher Drive Belt

If you can hear the motor struggling to work, and a faint burning smell is coming from the polisher, then it sounds like the belt is getting jammed and causing too much friction. So, replace the part and get that floor squeaky clean again.

This is a genuine spare part that will fit the selected Electrolux floor polishers shown in the list of appliances.

Please check the suitable model fit list to ensure that this is the correct part for your appliance.

  • Roy thanks for this but the problem I have is actually how do you get to access the 'inside' the machine to get to the brushes / spindle on my B37 model there appears to be 'hood' at the front which find impossib to remove (not sure if this ios were you get to the spindle. Underneath there is a metal plate with three fixing screws, I have been able to remove the screws but the 'plate' does not buge. I cannot get into the spindle to even get at the brushes nor remove the old belt drive. By Dixie - Liverpool - 05 August 2013
  • I have just bought my floor polisher model B37 (over 22 years old)l from ebay and need to replace the belt but am unsure how to 'access' the spindle / brushes. I have tried everywhich way to get 'inside' the darn machine..... any tips By dixie - Liverpool - 26 July 2013
  • Answer my own question but may help others. At first sight it appears impossibly small. A bit of stretching with a soak in hot water did the trick - finally. Needs to fit over drive spindle to start and then "wind" it over the two bottom polishers. Persevere and it does happen! By Roy - - 20 February 2012
Answer this question

The drive belt shown is 710mm long. I need one that is 805mm long. Can I get it? My polisher is an old electrolux and the old belt was 805mm long and similar to this one in every other way.

  • I bought a 740mm belt online and after watching a spanish video on Youtube learned how to puit it on. A bit of a struggle but | managed it. The belt that had broken had stretched so there is no requirement to look for an 805mm belt; my logic is that no matter the model, Electrolux wouldn't change the size of the wheels or belt. I've received my above item today 20/12/2013 and had done the following as instructed. Soaked in hot water and managed to fixed it. Upon fixing it and tried to power on, seems that it's rotating but the problem is the it's making noise and with a burning smelt. It's runs for less than 5mins as worry if the belt that could be too tight? Please advise was the item was a correct belt?

Remove the belt and try rotating both parts individually and check for play in the bearings as these may be worn and the cause of the original belt failure.
