Washing Machine Door Interlock

If your washing machine not starting, but the fascia panel seems to show that all is correct, it could actually be an issue with the door interlock. If the door interlock fails, it means that your machine will not operate.

The door interlock is an electronic device that is designed to give a time delay of approximately 2 minutes before the door of a washing machine can be opened once the wash/drying cycle has competed. Door locks should be checked regularly to ensure that they are working correctly. During the cycle the door should remain locked; as it is can be extremely dangerous if this is not the case.

With help from eSpares, a fully working washing machine can soon be yours again. With this replacement interlock, we can get your appliance back to working order - so you can get through the laundry that is piling up at home!

Hello, Can you tell me if there's a way of testing the door interlock on a washing machine?

If the door locks and nothing else works check the motor brushes are not worn out before suspecting the door lock. You cannot check a door lock without powering it up and would not advise you attempt to check it when 'live'.
