I am trying to replace the bearings on this model. I have got all the bits apart but I cannot get the nut on the back of the drum off, the one that holds the drive pully on and frees the drum from the plastic surround. It it a large brass nut, about 30mm outside diameter. I am using a large shifting spanner and a bar to stop the rotation, as illustrated in the video on the Bosch. First question - it does come off doesn't it? Second question, it seems to be bound on the spindle, seized.... is this a known problem and how to release it? I have used WD40 to try to ease it, but no luck. Thanks in advance, Barry

Hi Barry. The answer here is persistence. It sounds as if the bearing has seized completely, in which case things will be very stiff inside the drum. Use plenty of WD40 and keep at it, and eventually you'll free the nut. I'm afraid there's no secret other than that in this case!

Hi Patti20, I'd recommend staying clear of this job if you're not 100% sure - it involves taking the washing machine completely apart.
