  • No. I successfully fitted the spring in 2-3 minutes after considering the four possible ways it could be fitted. Work perfectly since. I've not used the 'catch' that was supplied. By superblue - East Anglian Boy - 26 February 2010
  • Did you manage to find out how to fit it? Just received my replacement but can't find anyone who knows how it goes! Can you please help? By Oldbird1 - Sussex - 24 January 2010

Unfortunately not but there are many DIY instruction sites that will let you know how to proceed with fitting it.

We believe the sliding door should clip off to allow you to pull out the blue lever if it is damaged.

  • I didn't replace the catch, just the spring. I lifted the two broken pieces from their respective fixings, bit tight but they do come off the lugs. then I fitted the new spring to the flap (sliding cover bit) and then holding it at an odd angle fitted the other end to the catch lug still in the door. By turning the flap and pulling it towards its open position it slotted into its runner. Job done. By Clement - Rui - 29 December 2011
