I have a karcher k5.65 QC that won't shut off even when I turn the high pressure power switch to off. I have to unplug the machine for it to turn off. What should I replace first? 1 Answer

Hi my Karcher K5.55m will not switch off at the machine and it is making a very loud humming noise continuously, the machine still operates at full pressure i have recently replaced the capacitor as i thought that this was at fault. It did work normally and would switch off ok no humming but after 10mins use its exacltly the same. Could it be the switch? please can you advise me in this matter. Kind regards Dave Moore.

Check the capacitor again as it may have failed.
Hi I bought this item of you this week and fitted it but doesn't stay on, when looking at the switch before installing I thought there was something not right, but I went ahead and fitted it, and it started but as soon as I let go of the button it goes of again. can you tell me if there is anything I can do with the switch or is it faulty?

On your machine the switch looks like a standard push on push off switch. Take the machine apart and confirm the switch latched correctly when pushed directly. if it does but will not work when reassembled check that nothing is stopping the button from being 'fully' pressed.
I pulled the leads off my switch before noting where the wires go. Can you please confirm which wire should be connected to each terminal?

You will have to use a meter to confirm which contacts are connected when the switch is operating. The power lead is connected across two connections that do not connect to each other and the motor to the other two. This will connect the motor to the power lead when the switch is closed.
