  • I agree with Db and JET1. I used a screwdriver to prise the old strip and break the remaining tabs. It came away with steady firm force. Take great care to ensure all the broken bits of tab are removed (check) as otherwise the new strip will not slip in. By BDH - EDINBURGH - 25 September 2017
  • Brilliant advice - just needs a bit of welly or in my case a rolling pin to lever it out By Db - Bracknell - 26 September 2013
  • Just open the door wide, lift the strip from the broken end, usually door opening side, and continue to lift (Pry) until the tabs on the strip break and it comes away. Clear out any old broken bits from the top of the door fixing joint, align the new strip with the edge of the door and slide into place until the fingers on he new strip lock into place. It looks very white and new against the faded original colour, but there, it now works like when it was new By JET1 - Bristol - 02 December 2011

The cover pushes and clicks in place. To remove either carefully prise out using a flat blunt knife or try and twist by putting pressure on the surface to help it unhook on one side and pull off.
