thanks for reply the freezer has been swiched on for 24hours the red light is still on only top shelf is freezing is my freezer had it can you please adise thanks

This suggests the freezer is short of gas or the compressor is worn out. Both jobs cannot be done without a trained refrigeration engineer and are likely to be expensive.
just defrosted freezer red light on seems to be working ok green light not on should this be on ?

The red light is likely to remain until down to temperature. If the green does not come on at that point but the temperature seems correct this unit may require replacement.
