I took the top off but the back looks to complex to get off- Can I access from the base by lying it on its side?

You may be able by leaning the machine forward to drop the belt over the motor pulley and feed it around the drum pulley turning to lead it on. To split the cabinet remove the top and there are two screws hidden behind plastic plugs in the middle. Remove these plus two from the side panels at the top on left and right. then remove 2/3 screws bottom back and unhook the valves to allow the rear half to pull away leaving the drum fixed to the front and base.

Unfortunately we do not have a guide on this at the moment, hopefully we will do in the near future. We cannot give out technical advice, so all I can suggest is contacting an engineer.
