rear bearing okay. drive belt okay. motor okay. Knocking noise can be made when rotating drum slowly by hand. is it the front drum bearings worn ?

The drum front rests on these rubber tyre'd wheels. Often they go out of shape and can make this regular knocking noise. Replacing them should cure your problem.
I have had my Hoover HNC180 (Nextra 8) apart today and the drum support wheels are black/roller bearings. Are these wheels retrofittable or is the image incorrect?
