1 Question and 1 Answer

I broke the thermostat capillary while working on the regulator housing assembly so now I'm faced with replacing the thermostat. But it's far from obvious how I withdraw the old capillary from inside the side wall of the fridge and then insert and correctly route the new one. I assume I will have to remove the fridge from under the worktop (damn!!!) to gain access to the back, but what then?! I don't want to move the fridge until the stat is delivered.

Hello ralphclark. Basically, the end of the thermostat sits either on a bracket, or in a hole in the inner fridge wall, from where it can monitor the temperature.  This part will be accessed either one of two ways - locate it and you'll be able to tell which. It could be that it is behind a panel which can be removed from the inside of the fridge, or it might be that you have to get round the back of the fridge to unhouse the 'stat. Best of luck, I hope you can get the job done quickly and painlessly!
