Hi ceilidh, because this is a gas-related problem, you'll need to get in touch with a Gas Safe registered engineer. I don't want to be responsible for any explosions!

I've a Cannon C60GCK. When the oven is on, the ignition keeps clicking. It all works a treat but is annoying. Having spoken to a fitter, he says its the ignition for the oven (durr). Can I presume I need a Main Oven Thermostat Ignition Switch? When I unplug the cooker from the socket to stop the clicking, the oven goes off, although the burners on the top continue to work. Cheers Ben

Hi Ben, unfortunately as we do not give out technical advice we cannot confirm. Please re-consult that engineer to actually find out what needs replacing and we should be able to help from there.

We bought this item and although it looks exactly the same as the existing switch the hole in the middle is too big, so have we ordered the wrong part?

Hi Wizzlylizzy, the part you're after is this microswitch: http://www.espares.co.uk/part/cookers-and-hobs/hotpoint/p/1092/808/0/0/474639/micro-switch.html
