my Ariston AIB16 will not operate on any program and after 10 seconds it gives a F 01 fault code,and only the water pump operates continually, I have inspected all the components and found a burnt hole in the middle of the module circuit board, would this be the problem or could this be due to a fault in another component?.

F01 refers to the machine has detected an error in the motor triac which is based inside the module, test the motor circuit with a multimeter to determine if something has caused the board to blow.

Your model number is not recognised by Hotpoint's 'European' system. However it may be the same module as this, These modules generally have to be programmed to enable them to work and as we cannot be certain if this applies to your model we suggest you check with a local dealer if this applies to your machine.
