Main Oven Thermostat - ET50000/J5 Stock Number: ES547003
Genuine spare part for select models of Hotpoint, Creda and Indesit cookers
I replaced the heating element in my oven a couple of days ago and all seemed ok. (the old element died a week ago and I bought the element from eSpares.) Any ideas what could be wrong?

If the oven is overheating then it is likely to be the thermostat.
To fit Hotpoint BD32B main oven. The oven has a top oven and the part I ordered previously wasn't long enough to fit

To confirm we have the right part can you identify the production number which should be 050599101 or similar.
When I turn it off at the main switch, the RCD on the consumer unit trips. Both top oven and main oven neon lights come on as well, but all knobs are off. Looks like a big failure, but any ideas on a fix?

Check the terminal connection box at the back of the oven as these often have links between terminals. If the screws are a little loose they can burn and give poor connections that can cause 'random' faults that link to a common cause.
i have a Hotpoint EW82 double oven cooker. The main oven fan comes on but no heat, the only clue is the thermostat light is permanently on, with or without the oven being turned on, top oven and hob work fine. 1 Answer

I have the above oven which I have owned from new main oven has always had a tendency to burn food even when I set thermostat 20C degrees below the recommended cooking temperate for a fan oven. The other day I bought a over thermometer and set the oven to 130C and watched the thermometer. It rose gradually to 130C and then carried on going up to 160. What is the likely resolution. Please note that even the hotplates are difficult to set on the cooker, particularly when you want a low setting for simmering. Any ideas?

Oven thermostats are often up to 20 % out you can either replace the thermostat for a new one that may be more accurate or now you can identify the temperature put markers on your control for regular setting.
