Product Q&A

Ask a Question

All 4 of my hob plates are either on or off. Putting the switch in any position results in the full power option. The ES642989 looks like the part that will solve my problem. I just wonder if I need 4 oven energy regulators or if I should order one first and see if it works.

It is unlikely to require all 4 regulator switches at the same time, so check for a wiring issue before suspecting anything else.

Answer this question

I have a belling oven model number 444447138, serial number 90319107. All four rings on the hob operate at maximum temperature even when turned to lowest number. Is there a part I can get to control this again. If so does one part fix the problem or do I need one for each ring. Thanks

These regulators work by heating a electric element inside to operate a bi metal spring that can be adjusted to vary the time it takes to switch off. If the common neutral to all the regulators was missing all rings would just switch to full when ever on so check for a neutral fault to these controls.

The problem is likely to be the thermocouple failing.

which part do I need thermostat or energy regulator

A regulator is used to control the element temperature on a grill or hot plate. If your oven has a heating indicator that remains lit and does not go out it may be an element. For more information see our video: How to diagnose problems with your oven http://www.espares.co.uk/advice/1/2145
