  • The screws you remove are self tapping, so no tap is required. By Ben - Derbyshire - 30 May 2011

Hi there, the screws you need are Torx head, T25 - so the tap would correspond to this.

Answer this question

the holes on the plate are obvious to secure one end of the drum shaft, but does the pointy end of the shaft have a hole across the shaft to allow the fitment of a split pin? This is for a replacement of a Creda Excel T632CW Condenser Dryer drum shaft.

  • A split pin can be used, but there is a special "S" shaped pin that goes in this cross drill hole. Always use a washer between bearing and split pin/"S" pin. By marlincar - Devonshire - 22 April 2010
  • yes this shaft is drilled to accept a pin, use the pin that is in the old shaft, not a split pin, the pin is just a single, easy to fit. By ianoliver48 - scottish borders - 26 November 2009

It may be possible but the easiest way is shown in the video attached.

Answer this question

After seeing the video I think I might need the large riveted model but both come up with the fact they are incompatible ?

This is suitable if your drum has three screws in the middle. if it has no screws you need Stock Number: ES1672507

This depends on production. If you have 3 screws in the centre of the drum you need Stock Number: ES1562106 if welded use Stock Number: ES1672507.

Answer this question

Have a TVR 2 drier, there are no screws from inside drum, part of old shaft is still on drum. Am I right in thinking if I grind this off to leave flat surface this or kit with bearing will then fit with screws from inside. Looks like it is shoulder from old pin that has broken.Or does it screw out, have not tried that but can grind off if needed. Or is it recessed to take the shoulder left on.

It should be possible to carefully drill out the 'rivets' pushed into the shaft plate to remove the old one. Then use the new one and the supplied self tapping screws to fit the hub to the other holes on the back of the drum.

We believe the riveted shaft hub can be carefully drilled off the drum and a replacement bolted in place.

Answer this question

Compatibility check says this is not compatible with hotpoint TVM562 but is compatible with TVM562p - can you confirm this is correct as part appears similar from photo as used in TVM562

This is suitable but kit Stock Number: ES546701 has the usual parts that may need to be replaced on your dryer.

Answer this question

I can find a baring and baring locator bracket showing as compatable but not the shaft. The current shaft has a c clip washer instead of a pin to secure but if this is compatable with this baring and carrier, will it work. The current shaft is held in by 3 screws. Could you help at all. Thanks

An engineer would order Stock Number: ES546701 as this contains most of the common wearing parts for your machine including this.

We believe that you can carefully drill out the fixings to the drum shaft and fit a kit like Stock Number: ES546701. We would welcome your feedback to confirm this is possible.
