Hi, my microwave has been quite temperamental for some time and has finally quit heating anything at all whilst on microwave, could it be down to this card being all brown? I tried to take it out and it fell apart. The oven and grill still work just nothing gets hot using microwave function (Panasonic NNCT579S) Thanks
- Ok, Thank you, probably just as cheap to buy a new one then from experience of repairing costs before. Thought it was worth asking though :)

It would not be the waveguide cover stoping the microwave heating, it is more likely to be one of the internal components. Microwave repairs that have to remove the casing should only be carried out by a qualified person, due to the high voltages inside it must be discharged safely before attempting any repair and due to this we do not give out advice on this type of repair.

I took out the silver card on the right in my new Panasonic microwave. Should I have done this or not as the top righthand side gets hot. 1 Answer

If you removed the wave guide cover and food splashes or crumbs have got into the wave guide then these may burn and carbonise causing more burning. If this has hapened your microwave may be unrepairable.
