THE LAMP fitting on the above went with a loud bang and a blue flash. Fitting a new lamp does not work. The fan is still working and the main fuse was not blown. Can you please help identify the problem Kind regards Gordon Scott

The wires connect into the lamp socket by either simply pushing in and locking or unscrew as in a normal 13A plug. If there are no screws and you are having difficulty removing the old wires carefully cut at the holder and re strip the end by 5 to 10 mm before pushing into the new holder.
